Place with love: Pipiwail trail

Welcome to the jungle! Wer meint in Maui kann man nur im Meer planschen, der liegt absolut falsch. Adventure, hello here we are! Maui bietet viele verschiedene Hiking Trails (Hana Road), die euch zu den wunderschoensten Orten fuehren. Einer davon ist der Pipiwai trail. Durch die gruene Vegetation, entdeckt ihr immer wieder kleine Wasserfaelle & gigantische verschnoerkelte Baeume. Auf halber Strecke gelangt ihr dann endlich zum atemberaubenden Bamboo-Forest! Gigantische Bamboostaemme ragen in den Himmel und der Trail verdunkelt sich. Magisch! Durch den Wind tanzen die Staemme und knatschen aneinander. Ein bisschen unheimlich ist es schon, aber das gehoert ja zum Abenteuer ;) Seit ihr am Ende angekommen, ist es nicht mehr weit und ein enormer Wasserfall laesst euch ausflippen! Noch schnell einen Fluss ueberqueren und ihr seit da. Wassersprenkel auf der Haut, ein kleines Picknick, just peaceful. Leider gibt es dort keine Moeglichkeit zu schwimmen. Seit ihr wieder erholt, geht es wieder zurueck. Am Ausgangspunkt angekommen ist es ein absolutes MUSS den naechsten Trail einzuschlagen. 5 min Gehweg und ihr seit im naechsten heaven. Dort erwarten euch zwei gigantische Wasserfaelle und pools, in dem ihr schwimmen koennt! Nach dem anstrengenden hike einfach nur entspannend! 

Mein Tipp

Der Weg ist teils sehr steinig, also zieht besser Turnschuhe an. Genug trinken und essen einpacken (Picknick am Wasserfall), Muekenspray, Schwimmsachen & Kamera nicht vergessen!

Welcome to the jungle! Those who believe in Maui you can only splash in the sea, you are absolutely wrong. Adventure, hello here we are! Maui offers a variety of hiking trails that lead you to the most beautiful places. One of them is the Pipiwai trail(hana road). Through the green vegetation, you will discover small waterfalls & gigantic trees. Halfway you come at last to the stunning bamboo forest! Enormous bamboo strains rise into the sky and the trail turns into darkness. Magical! Through the wind the strains are dancing and whining. A bit scary, but that belongs to the adventure ;) Since you arrived at the end, it's not far and an enormous waterfall will freak you out! Just quickley cross a river and you are there. Watersplashes on your skin, a small picnic, just peaceful. Unfortunately, there is no possibility to swim. Recovered it goes back. Arriving at the starting point, it is a MUST to take the next trail. 5 min sidewalk and you are in the next heaven. There you will find two gigantic waterfalls and pools where you can swim! After the strenuous hike you can just relaxing!

My advice

The road is partly very rocky, so better attracts sneakers. Drink enough and eat pack (picnic at the waterfall), mosquito spray, swimwear & camera not forget!

From Germany to Maui Hawaii

Traueme. Ich habe viele. Ihr sicher auch. Verrueckte, unvorstellbare, realisierbare, kleine und grosse. Ich traueme viel & in manchen Augen auch sehr realitaetsfern. Aber genau das macht ja so viel Spass. Seit meiner Kindheit liebe ich Inseln und das leben mit Sonne, Strand und Meer. Meine groesste Faszination galt schon immer Hawaii. Vor zwei Jahren hat sich dieser Wunsch erfuellt. Es war einmalig. Good vibes are everywhere! Dieses Gefuehl und der Ort hat mich einfach nicht mehr losgelassen. Da mein Auslandssemster bevorstand habe ich gelegentlich und aus Neugier recherchiert, um eine Moeglichkeit zu finden dort diese Zeit zu verbringen. Universitaet, unbezahlbar. Naechste Suche: Agenturen. Manchmal passiert so etwas eher passiv. Du weisst, es ist fast unmoeglich und doch versuchst du immer mal wieder etwas zu finden. Ich bearbeitete mein Portfolio und bewarb mich an ausgewaehlte Agenturen fuer ein Praktikum. Mein Rat, immer, ueberall: If you never try, you”ll never know!!!! Dann eine Rueckmeldung. Informationsaustausch. Die Zusage. WHAT? Auf einmal stand mir dieser Weg offen und im ersten Moment war ich fassungslos. Hawaii? Really? Absolute, yes!

Dreams. I have many. Your certainly too. Crazy, unimaginable, realizable, small and large. I dream much and in some eyes very unrealistic. But that's what makes it so much fun. Since my childhood I love islands and life with sun, beach and sea. My greatest fascination was always the islands of Hawaii. Two years ago, this wish has come true. It was unique. Good vibes are everywhere! This feeling and the place just made me not let go. Since my semester abroad awaited I have researched and occasionally out of curiosity to find a way there to spend this time. University priceless. Next Search: Agencies. Sometimes this happens more passive. 

You know, it is almost impossible and you try every now and then to find something. I edited my portfolio and applied to selected agencies for an internship. 

My advice, always, everywhere: If you never try, you "ll never know !!!! Then FEEDBACK. Information exchange. The commitment. WHAT? Suddenly this way was open and at first I was stunned. Hawaii? Really? Absolute, yes!

Place with love: Ho’okipa Beach Park

Sich im Meer treiben lassen, langsame Bewegungen, ein bisschen schwimmen, essen, schlafen und den Tag in vollen Zuegen geniessen. Ja so mancher Tag ist hier wohl auch so fuer uns, aber dieses Glueck allein gehoert den niedlichen Schildkroeten. Fuer jeden der einer diesen gemuetlichen Wesen aus der Naehe beobachten moechte, der sollte den Ho’okipa Beach Park auf seiner “bucketlist” stehen haben. Nicht weit von meinem Ort entfernt, haben die Schildkroeten ihre “Raststaette” & ruhen sich an diesem Strand aus (Abgesperrter Bereich, damit sich die Schildkroeten wirklich ausruhen koennen und nicht gestresst werden!). Ebenso ein perfekter Spot um sich den Sonnenuntergang mit ein paar Freunden anzuschauen. Mein Highlight: Ab und zu gaehnen die Schildkroeten!!! Oh, that is life in maui! Love it!

Drifting in the sea, slow movements, a little swim, eat, sleep and enjoy the day to the fullest. Yes, such of those days is sometimes happening for us, but this happiness belongs alone to the cute sea turtles. For those who will love to watch one of these cozy creatures, you should have standing Ho’okipa Beach Park on your “bucketlist”. Not far from my place, the turtles have their “roadhouse” and rest at this beach (Roped area , so that the turtles can really relax and not be stressed out!). Likewise, a perfect spot to watch the sunset with a few friends. My highlight: Sometimes the turtles are yawning!!! Oh, that is life in maui! Love it!

Aloha life: Haleakalā National Park

Einer der schoensten und ruhigsten Orte auf Maui ist der Haleakalā National Park. Der Haleakalā Krater ( “Haus der Sonne” ) ist einer der hoechsten Krater der Welt (3000 Meter ueber dem Meeresspiegel). Die Luft ist klar und rein. Dort oben herrscht eine ungewohnte aber angeneheme Stille, die diesen Ort noch magischer erscheinen laesst. Auf dem Weg dorthin, wirst auf der langen kurvigen Strasse umhuellt von Cotton-Candy Wolken. Oben angekommen bist du von diesen flauschigen Wolken umgeben und moechtest am liebsten auf ihnen schlafen. Mit ein wenig Glueck ist der Blick frei und du kannst das Meer sehen. Ein kleine Wanderungen und du bist direkt im Krater. Die Erde, die Farben, Formen und eine in der naehe platzierte Sternenwarte erinnern an Star Wars. So habe ich mich auch gefuehlt und haette mich auch ueber einen der suessen Wookies gefreut. Doch das eigentliche Spektakel beginnt mit dem Sonnenaufgang oder Sonnenuntergang. Die Wolken werden von der Sonne umhuellt und es entstehen einmalige Farben. Es ist irgendwann schwer sich fuer einen Punkt zu entscheiden, denn alles sieht so wunderschoen aus. Just follow the sun!

Meine Tipps: 

Viel trinken und essen einpacken. Es ist heiss, die Luft ist duenn und die Wege sind steil. Ausserdem ist sehr KALT. Auf jedenfall Jacke und eine lange Hose einpacken. Und natuerlich die Kamera nicht vergessen!

One of the most beautiful and most peaceful places on Maui is the Haleakala National Park. The Haleakala Crater ("house of the sun") is one of the highest crater in the world (3000 meters above sea level). The air is clear and pure. Up there prevails an unfamiliar but bask silence that makes this place seem even more magical. Along the way, going to the long winding road wrapped in cotton-candy clouds. Once at the top you are surrounded by these fluffy clouds and want to enjoy sleeping on them. With any luck, the view is clear and you can see the sea. A little hiking and you're right in the crater. The earth, the colors, shapes and one near-placed observatory remember at “Star Wars”. So I have felt and it would be perfect if there was a sweet “Wookie”. But the real show begins with the sunrise or sunset. The clouds are surrounded by the sun and there are unique colors. It is sometime difficult to choose a point, because everything looks so beautiful. Just follow the sun!

My advice:

Don't forget to drink and eat. It is hot, the air is thin and the paths are steep. It is very COLD up there, so pack definitely jacket and long pants. And of course do not forget the camera!

I’m Jenny, a graphic designer from germany and for now 4 months 
in Hawaii, Maui for an internship in a graphic design agency in Paia.

Why Hawaii? Really why not? I had ever the desire to live here once. Sometimes you have to be crazy, follow your dreams and TRY! If not, you will never known if it's ever could be possible! 

On my site you will find everything about my trip to maui, the island, living and working life, food, adventurous,travel, lots of sand, sea, surfing, rainbows and palms.

Peace, Baby!

“So what we smoke weed? 

We’re just having fun 

We don’t care who sees 

So what we go out? 

That’s how its supposed to be 

Living young and wild and free!” 

Hang loose. Am Strand leben. Barfuss. Gitarrensound. Blumenketten. Meditieren. Nackt. Frei sein. Peace, baby! So oder so aehnlich gestalten einige hier ihren Lifestyle. Viele die diesen Ort besuchen entschieden sich spontan ein Teil dieser Community zu werden und lassen sich von diesem Freiheitsgefuehl treiben. Just keep slow. Wenn du es noch nicht bist, hier lernst du abzuschalten, auf die ein oder andere Art. Wer dieses Gefuehl und Atmosphaere erleben will, aber kein “Mitglied” werden moechte, der sollte sonntags “little beach” besuchen. Vom “big beach” im west-suedlichen “Makena park” ist der little beach nur durch eine Felsschneise zu erreichen. Hast du den steilen Weg nach oben geschafft wirst du schon mit Keksen begruesst ;)  Let the party started! Das Herzstueck bildet ein wunderschoener alter majestaetischer Baum, der mit Hangematten und Hula Hoop reifen bestueckt ist. Davor bilden eine Gruppe Drummer den zentralen Punkt. Darum eine tanzende Menschenmasse. Halbnackt. Nackt. Surfer im Ozean. Halbnackt. Nackt. Bis zum Sonnenuntergang wird getanzt und gefeiert. Egal wie fremd dir so einiges erscheint, du wirst von den drums und der wunderschoenen Natur mitgerissen.

Hang loose. Life at the beach. Barefoot. Guitar sound. Leis. Meditation. Naked. Be free. Peace, baby! Like this, some here found their lifestyle. Many people visit this place and decided spontaneous to become a part of this community and let their mind drift of this feeling of freedom. Just keep slow. If you're not yet, here you learn off, in one way or another way. Those who want to experience this feeling and get this atmosphere, but would not be a "member" who have to attend on sundays "little beach". From the "big beach" in the west-southern "makena park" the little beach can only be reached through a rocky path. Have you made the steep climb to the top you'll already welcomed with cookies ;) Let the party started! The heart forms a beautiful old majestic tree, which is equipped with hammocks and hula hoops. In front if the tree a group of drummers build the central point. Around them a dancing crowd, half-naked or naked. Surfers in the ocean, half-naked, naked. Until sunset it  is all about dancing and celebrating. No matter how strange that feels, you will swept away by the drums and the beautiful nature.

Best food part I ku'au store

Yummy, yummy, I got love in my tummy! Maui hat nicht nur eine unbeschreiblich schoene Natur zu bieten. So gesund und belebend wie du dich hier fuehlst, so gesund und frisch sind die Lebensmittel. Besonders in Paia ernaehren sich die Menschen sehr bewusst und etwas anderes als Bio, Raw, vegetarisch, vegan und ueberwiegend local ist fast unmoeglich zu finden. Ob frische Fruechte von den Farmer’s markets oder ein berauschendes Einkaufserlebnis in "Mana Foods"  (mana=Lebenskraft), sorry junk food “bye bye”. Gestern gab es “RAW LOCAL POWER”, ein absolutes Geschmacksfeuerwerk unterschiedlichster Produkte aus dem Ku'au Store, Maui. Dips, Lunchpakete, erfrischende Getraenke bis zum Dessert. Gesund, lecker, FOOD-HEAVEN.

Yummy, yummy, I got love in my tummy! Maui has to offer not only an incredibly beautiful nature. So healthy and invigorating as you feel here, so healthy and fresh is the food. Especially in Paia, people nourish very aware and something other than organic, raw, vegetarian, vegan and mostly local is almost impossible to find. Whether fresh fruit from the farmer's markets or an exhilarating shopping experience in "Mana Foods" (mana = life force), sorry junk food "bye bye". Yesterday there was "RAW LOCAL POWER", an absolute flavor fireworks of different products from the Ku'au Store, Maui. Dips, Packed Lunches, refreshing drinks to dessert. Healthy, tasty, food HEAVEN.
